About the show

'It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife’

Written and set in late 18th century England, Pride & Prejudice gently mocks the social mores and manners of the period. It tells the tale of the five Bennett sisters and their over bearing mother who is desperate to find them all husbands.

The sisters feel quite differently from each other when it comes to love and marriage with the eldest sister Elizabeth being the most rebellious.

Full of humour and with plenty of twists in the tale, this play is a wonderful insight into the expectations of women at the time and is as relevant today as it ever was.
