KODS presents the stage version of the brilliant 1996 film ‘Brassed Off’ starring Ewan MacGregor and Pete Postlewaite, based on real events in a West Yorkshire mining village.

KODS are delighted to be working alongside members of the West Mercia Police Brass Band to incorporated rousing brass renditions of numbers such as ‘Danny Boy’, ‘Jerusalem’ and ‘Land of Hope & Glory’.

The play is set around Grimley Colliery where the accountants say there's more money in it shut than open, even after redundancy payments. It means 1200 job losses, a dying town and the loss of its brass band. However under the leadership of Danny, coughing with coal-dusted lungs, the band is somehow transformed into British champions with local lass Gloria whipping up the money needed to get them to the Albert Hall.
